Glenelg Fishing Charters

fishSA.com is proud to be associated with Glenelg Fishing Charters.

GFC, owned and run by John Winslet (left), has established itself as one of the foremost and leading Fishing Charter Services in and around the waters off Adelaide, offering to you a unique perspective to fishing and cruising.

Having been in the local recreational fishing and boating arena for over 25 years, John offers to you a sound skill set in boating and a unique knowledge of the waters in and around Adelaide, the Gulf waters and peninsulas. In 2000 John obtained his commercial qualifications and in 2006 took over Glenelg Fishing Charter.

GFC offers to you a wide selection of charter services, ranging from your standard half day and full day trips to the overnighters and 2-5 days 'live aboards', the ultimate fishing adventures.

GFC is currently operating a 31ft Alufarm charter vessel powered by 300hp of Mercury Supercharged engines for more fishing and less travelling time. Available in April 2007 is their brand new addition to the family a Riviera 60ft Charter vessel. This will be used to do 'overnighters' to Kangaroo Island, Wedge Island across to Pt. Lincoln and out to the Cabbage patch.

If fishing is not your flavour, then GFC also offers cruises and tours in and around the Port Adelaide River System, as well as relaxing cruises with dolphins off Glenelg and seals off Outer Harbour.

Snapper are prolific off our coast, and large snapper pass wide of Glenelg and over "The Shoals" annually, some weighing up to 35lbs, with Kg Whiting up to 55cm in length, mixed in with them.

It is these same snapper that are also sought after by the Great Whites, truly an awesome experience should you happen to venture upon one, from the safe confines of our large boats.
