Chinook with an Estuary Cod

Taken during our fishing stint in the Norther Territory, late May 2000. Hooking this Estuary Cod (as its commonly called) initially felt like a snag onto large weeds or rocks while trolling. As this fish was landed, it disgorged two large half-eaten (bleached) fish from its huge mouth.

Chinook landed this 7.2 kg Cod in about 15 minutes and the task of keeping the fish still for the photo was more gruelling than landing it.

I must comment that the night's dinner was one of the best.
