| The Paddocks
This area is great for Whiting and Snapper, but you need to be prepared to anchor up frequently. Deep gutters and sand patches show up everywhere on the echo sounder and the maximum catches of whiting are not uncommon.
The boating ramp at Edithburgh is excellent and ideal for the small boat "person" and on frequent occasions, big boat skippers trek across the gulf from Glenelg and work this area.
The trick here is to frquently echo sound, fish, then move on. Other times, drifting can produce some outstanding results, and a large variety of fish can be taken here. Small rugger snapper can be taken during the day, where as the large variety hit the hooks at night.
The Paddocks covers geographically a large area and it is recommended you keep moving and try different holes till you strike a big school of fish. |
