BBQ Breakfast 7.00am - 9.00am
Enjoy a sumptuous Barbecue Breakfast
of Sausages, Bacon, Eggs, Toast & Juice
for $3.50/person before launching !
Departing Marina from 8.00am
Return 3.00pm for Catch Weigh-in & Measure
Prize & Trophy Presentation 4.00pm

The Fishing Competition has been organised to provide the opportunity for a fun filled family day of recreational fishing and boating, and in doing so, the South Coast Volunteer Marine Rescue Association encourages and asks all entrants, to act in a safe manner & ensure that their vessel complies with the legal requirements of safety equipment, before departing from the Marina.

Competition Sections

  • Land Based Fishing [those fishing from the beach, rocks or jetty]
  • Boat Fishing

In each section the categories are for men, women and juniors. Trophies and prizes will be awarded for

  • Biggest Fish of the Day - Boat Fishing
  • Biggest Fish of the Day - Land Based Fishing
  • Largest Catch of the Day - Boat Fishing
    • 1 award mens section
    • 1 award womens section
    • 1 award juniors section
  • Largest Catch of the Day - Land Based Fishing
    • 1 award mens section
    • 1 award womens section
    • 1 award juniors section

Fishing Competition Rules

  1. All Competition Entrants MUST register to be eligible to compete.
  2. Competition Entrants are NOT PERMITTED to depart from the Marina prior to 8am.
  3. All entrants MUST return to the Marina NO LATER than 3.15pm
  4. All fish caught must be of legal size.
  5. Cleaning/gutting & scaling of fish during competition is not allowed.
  6. Legal bag limits MUST NOT be exceeded.
  7. Competition Entrants MUST comply with the relevant laws and requirements under the Fisheries Act.
  8. Biggest Catch of the day may include more than one species of fish.
  9. Biggest Fish of the day will be awarded by weight NOT length.

Please Note:- A full list of the competition rules will be displayed at the Boat Ramp the day of the competition.

Any entrant who breaches any rule of the competition or who is deemed by the Judges to have or be acting in an unsafe manner or in prejudice of another entrant will be disqualified.

Sectional Groupings

  • Mens Section - for ages 16 years and over
  • Womens Section - for ages 16 years and over
  • Juniors Section - up to 16 years of age.

All decisions made by the Judges will be final with NO appeals !
