This particular ground is renown for producing good catches of whiting during the winter and early part of summer months. Drive your boat directly out from Brighton jetty, so that all you can see is the end of the jetty splitting the big two pines. Then line up your boat till both the house and the black pole are aligned.

If the whiting are timid and not taking the bait, berley the ground with cockles to bring them on. Good catches of whiting have been reported from here in the early summer months, which is unusual for whiting as they are more prolific during winter.
