The following information on boat ramps has been reproduced from the 1991 brochure Boat Ramps in Sth Australia, compiled by the Coastal Management Branch, Department of Environment and Natural Resources South Australia.

  • Turn off Flinders Hwy, approx 30km north of Elliston.
  • Arno Bay
  • 2 km north of township.
  • Billy Light
  • 2 lanes.
  • Ceduna
  • Midway between Ceduna and Thevenard.
  • 4 lane ramps, all tide launching.
  • Coffin Bay
  • Adjacent to Esplanade, 4 lane ramp.
  • Coffin Bay
  • Beach Ramp.

  • South side of jetty reserve, dredged channel to sea - use caution at low tide.
  • Cost $2 per launch
  • Weekly pass for $10
  • Yearly passes also available
  • Good all weather ramp

  • The ramp is free and there are no facilities and no lighting
  • There is a large area set aside for parking
  • It is well protected but could be a bit hairy with winds from the North

  • There is no toilets at the ramp.
  • There is ample safe well lit parking with long bays for car and trailer.
  • A good wash down bay is available.

  • 100m south of main jetty.
  • Venus Bay
  • Most launching is from beach east of jetty.
  • Whyalla
  • Hummock Hill
  • The ramp has 4 lanes
  • Good at all tides and weather conditions
  • Cost $4.40 to launch (you need correct money at ramp)
  • Parking tickets issued via machine at entrance to marina
  • The carpark now has realtime video surviellance with a direct feed to the Whyalla Police Station
  • The facility has all night lighting, fishcleaning area (undercover) and a washdown area for boats.
