Clove Hitch

The Clove Hitch is a good, simple all-purpose hitch.

It is easy to tie and untie and hold adequately, but is not totally secure.

• Make a turn around the post with the standing part on the top.
• Take a second turn around in the the same direction and feed the free end through the eye of the second turn.
• Then pull tight.
