| The Barges
Three barges were sunk by scuttling them on November 24th, 1954. One was 45.2 metres long, and the other two were 21.3 metres. Old and dilapidated, as well as been to dangerous to use, these barges now provide an excellent haven for a variety of fish, and its not uncommon to see a white pointer during the summer months.
Large snapper, some weighing up to 14 kilos can be caught here, especially during the night time.
Small boats are discouraged from making this journey, as the distance off shore is excessive. An echo sounder is always of value, and is now a days considered as standard part of boating equipment. |
